What is so obscene…

with 3 comments

Hi,

Have a look at this link which talks about a case filed against Shilpa Shetty for obscenity. It was OK to blame Rakhi Sawant on the issue. I am not passing any judgement on whether she was obscene or not, because I personally enjoy her videos, well more than Rakhi Sawant, there is this other gal with a nice figure (similar to that of Shilpa Shetty) who danced for the remix of ‘Kabhi aar kabhi paar’. whats her name? Lemme google and find out… Oh yeah Deepal Shaw, the one that acted in Kalyug too. I liked her dancing. Nice rhythmic steps.. so what if she wears shorter skirts etc, if she is a good enough dancer or actor, I would forgive her. Talking about models who have become successful actors, I feel Joh Abraham is a wonderful actor. Before I saw his films I ruled him out as I did the other Somans and Rampals, but his performances in Jism, Zinda and Taxi No 9211 are wonderful although not very flamboyant. Neways, I was saying I am not passing any judgement on Rakhi Sawant, but if you have to pick one to get your point across against obscenity, probably its OK to pick Rakhi Sawant, but not Shilpa Shetty. C’mon yaar, she is a very pretty actress with a perfect built who had made TN Seshan go back to his younger days. Talking about TN Seshan, he had once come to IIT and gave a talk in our central lecture theatre on general Indian politics n blah blah. In the Q&A round, someone asked him if he supports IITians, the cream of the nation, leaving India to pursue higher studies in USA, his answer was, “My appeal to all you guys, if you feel you can study better and make a better start to your career by moving to United States, do go ahead, but for GOD’s sake do remember to come back”. This answer was obviously received with applause. Neways, when I first heard of the news of Rakhi Sawant filing a complaint against Mika for biting her lips, I just broke down into laughter. Well, I am not in a position to comment on the legality of the action done by Mika, but it all sounds kinda funny. Poor pop singer might have wanted to take advantage of the fact that he is the birthday boy. For all you know, he might have never expected Rakhi Sawant to turn up for the function and when he saw her he would have felt she had something for him (yeah guys r fools) and jus tried a shot at her. There is another possibility that Rakhi would have felt a lil bad after Mika did this to her and might have wanted to boost her media image which was tarnished by the recent protests against her obscene videos and poor Mika might have felt ‘Oh crap! Lockup for locking lips???’. If you really wanna act against obscenity raid the file servers of the umpteen college campuses in our country which have some real good stuff shared by students (don’t you remember the DPS RK Puram incident and the subsequent selling of the vdeo on Baazee.com by a student of a reputed institute?). To me, this all sounds pointless. It is just that the politicians who are aged just can’t understand that India won’t be the same India they had seen some 30-40 years ago. Westernization is bound to happen, and you should take solace by convincing yourself that what is happening is nothing but blending of clutures…

I think, therefore I blog…

Hi,

From Danger’s Den to No Second Thoughts to Passing Thoughts to O pen up, my blog journey has been rather exciting. I had different reasons for shifting sites each time, but this time the reason is blocking of Indiatimes blogsite by my great office which follows BS7799 standards to the dot in spite of having employees like me who do not even know that the full form of BS is ‘British Standard’ and 7799 is a 4 digit decimal number that is neither Planck’s constant nor Avagadro number, not even Ramanujan’s 1729. To introduce myself, I am a go-getter quick in achieving my dreams (my roommate constantly teases me that when he had interviewed me for my current job as Business Analyst, I had said that ‘becoming a Business Analyst’ is my dream – a ploy I employed to fool the interviewer). People often say I am a PJ King, but I do not agree. The jokes that come out of me are not PJs, but they are QJs (Quality Jokes). One of my friends at IIT convinced me to accept that they may not be QJs, but maybe we can give them a separate title KJs (Kans’ Jokes) and whether they are painful or of good quality is upto the listener to decide. Btw, Kans was my nickname at IITM. It was Kans Mama. Since my name is KNS Srinivas, they decided to club the initials together and put a vowel in the middle to call me Kans and as Kans happens to be the great mama of Krishna, I ended up becoming Kans mama. But now, most people call me Srini. One of my ex-colleagues at TechMahindra (erstwhile MBT) called me ‘Sri Knee’ indicating that my brains lie in my knees. Well, You cannot play around with a great name like Srinivas that way. A sanskrit lecturer during my 11th had asked me if I knew the meaning of my name. When I said it is a name of ‘Lord Balaji’, he gave me a look and explained that ‘Sri’ means Goddess Lakshmi and Nivas means ‘residence’ and since ‘Lord Balaji’ has Lakshmi residing in his heart, he is called Srinivas. Oh great, I like this funda. Chalo, I have blogged enuff… Keep watching this space for more n more meaningless blogs that sure will make you read till the final dot and make you leave a comment…
